Looking for thoughtful holiday decor related gifts? Here are six Christmas decorations gift ideas that are handmade and one-of-a-kind!

Three different images featuring Christas decor items - a tree garland, macrame ornaments and red and green bird figurines.

People have been giving each other holiday decor as gifts since the beginning of time… or least the beginning of holiday decor. I imagine way back in the day, people brought each other freshly made wreaths to hang on their front door and hand-carved ornaments to hang on their trees.

It’s a lovely tradition and I encourage you to keep it going as a way to show the special people in your life that you think their home is pretty special too. But how to decide what style of Christmas decor would fit in someone’s home, when how we decorate is such a personal reflection of ourselves?

Well, my advice is to pick something simple and – like in days of yore – something handmade. To make sure it fits within the general style of their home, take a moment to consider the type of home they live in. Is it cozy and a little rough around the edges? Check out my suggestion for a rustic Christmas decor gift idea below. Or maybe they’re free-spirited and have an eclectic home to match? I have a suggestion for that too!
