Instead of a Holiday Home Tour this year I present to you a photo of my family, because every once and awhile I like to break my own rule and post a picture of my kids online… which kind of creeps me out, but for you? I’ll do it. (Actually, I do it because they are just so damn precious I’ll explode if I don’t share their beautiful faces approximately once a year.) PS – This photo was taken out on our land!
I have about five posts partially composed that I’ve been meaning to finish up and just haven’t gotten around to.
But I’m going to be frank here – 2016 has been kind of rough on me. An amazing year that brought many moments of pure joy, but also brought some really low moments that I won’t get into because those of you who know me best are already aware. Besides – it’s Christmas! And nothing brings warmth to my sometimes Scroogey heart (or “curmugeony” as Devin put it the other day… humph!) more than family and friends, food, twinkly lights, cheesy music and the smell of the season, which is kind of like cinnamon mixed with evergreen needles mixed with cold air mixed with wool socks mixed with something else I can’t put a name to, but it’s there.
So here’s to a wonderful holiday season for all who read this little blog… and even those who don’t. May your Christmas (or whichever festive event you celebrate this time of year) be filled with love, laughter and lots and lots of gravy.
What are you looking forward to most this holiday season? How was your 2016? On a scale of 1 to 10 how adorable are my kids? (Warning – if you put anything less than 11 I’ll shimmy down your chimney Christmas Eve and eat all your cookies… actually, I might do that anyway, because – you know – COOKIES!!!)

An 11. Definitely an 11. Or maybe 20. Yes a 20! ? My favourite thing about Christmas is the pretty lights. I’m kind of simple that way. Oh and gravy. Lots of gravy. 🙂
I’m sad that I missed out on the gravy wars this year, but I’m assuming there was yelling and tears and possibly some people had more than their share… not naming any names. Thanks for commenting!
2016…..what a year, rolling in and out of bed and not in the fun sense? Your little ones are totally adorable, so adorable that I cannot put it on a scale, so are you and Devin of course! I promise to come and visit in 2017, it has been too long since we saw each other. Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2017. Love and hugs
I would love a visit! But I know how busy and tough 2016 was for you. I think of you and Tony often. Thanks for the comment and love and hugs back!
